Capital Campaign Update
As of Tuesday, November 5th, our Capital Campaign has received $1,791,555.47 in pledges and gifts towards our $2.5 million goal. This marks us as 71.7% complete. The pledges and gifts received are from 174 families who have thus far participated in the Capital Campaign.
We want to still encourage those families who have received their campaign packets to turn in their pledge cards as soon as possible. This not only builds the momentum of the campaign but also assists us in the planning of the work that is to be done in the parish hall. Knowing your commitment financially to our Legacy Campaign gives us a better read on the distance we can go with the parish hall repairs and beautification.
We have just begun the discussions on formalizing the parish hall project which will, by your generosity, update this parish facility. The updates will include the changing out of the windows on the entire building, installing better doors and refurbishing the entire interior. We have already purchased a new stove for the kitchen, but other appliances will probably need attention. It is our goal to also construct an outside kitchen/pavilion on the Washington St. side of the building.
As the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays are quickly approaching, we will be breaking from our campaign receptions until January. However, if you would like to receive a packet now and have not yet attended a reception, please call Spring Viator at the parish office. Arrangements can easily be made to get it to you.
Finally, this year’s #iGiveCatholic will be a sub-component of our Legacy Campaign, specifically targeting donations to furnish the interior of our adoration chapel which is to be constructed. Extra gifts to this component are truly appreciated. #iGiveCatholic also invites non-parishioners who are adorers to assist in furnishing the new chapel. This will specifically allow us to purchase the chairs, kneelers and the altar with the tabernacle.
May the Good Lord continue to bless the work of our hands!
Fr. Blanda
We are grateful to the Knights of Columbus, New Iberia Council 1208 who presented a check to Fr. Blanda to assist with the Legacy Capital Campaign. Their donation is to assist with a new stove which has been purchased for the parish hall. This begins the first of projects slated for the parish hall as outlined in the scope of our Capital Campaign.
