Capital Campaign

Captial Campaign Update

As of  Tuesday, October 14th, the total gifts and pledges given for our Capital Campaign are $2,103,231.18. This figure places us at being 84.1% of our goal of $2.5 million.

Parish Hall

We are still working with an architect and contractors to determine how far we can go with the remodeling of the parish hall. We encourage all parishioners who plan to participate in the Capital Campaign to get their pledges in very soon so that we can determine how much campaign funds will be available for this project.

Exterior Cleaning, Painting and Waterproofing of Church

At this time, most of the power washing and painting of the church has been completed.  The contractors are finished all except the rectory side of the church and the higher ends of the steeples. They are saving that area until last as wood will be laid on the ground to prevent as much as possible the heavy lift from digging into the lawn.  A taller lift will also be obtained to do the top areas by the steeples.

You can notice that the dated peach color has been changed to a creamy white for the lintels and the exterior walls of the confessionals. The louvers in the steeple towers and the very tops of the steeple cupola will be in a more bronze color.  The bronze color was selected to give more contrast to the beautiful architecture and to diminish the noticeable effect of the soot and algae buildup in an area which is very difficult to clean on a regular basis.

When the painting has been completed, another company will be coming in to waterproof the building.  This will entail reglazing the windows with new caulking and tuckpointing areas of the brick and mortar which need repair. They will also then begin working on the rectory, which was in the scope of the campaign projects.

Divine Mercy Adoration Chapel

Now that the contract has been signed, the project has been submitted to the City for permitting. Once we have a green light and the permit in hand, we will be able to give a more accurate date as to the time that construction will actually begin.
