Capital Campaign Update
As of Tuesday, February 11th, the total gifts and pledges given for our Capital Campaign are $1,863,668.59. This figure places us at being 74.5% of our goal of $2.5 million.
Status on Projects
Church Lighting - The remaining portion of this project now is to have our new lights and existing lights connected to the new dimming system. This is slated to be done during the first week of March.
Adoration Chapel - The bids for the new adoration chapel have come in much higher than expected. We are working with contractors to see where adjustments can be made. We are also examining the location of the chapel being moved to a place where existing concrete would not have to be removed, thus reducing cost. The parish remains fully committed to this project.
Exterior Waterproofing and Painting of Church and Rectory - The corporate resolution has been signed by the Bishop, empowering Fr. Blanda to sign contracts for this work. This project should begin this spring when the contractors have a window of time to accommodate us.
We are grateful to the Knights of Columbus, New Iberia Council 1208 who presented a check to Fr. Blanda to assist with the Legacy Capital Campaign. Their donation is to assist with a new stove which has been purchased for the parish hall. This begins the first of projects slated for the parish hall as outlined in the scope of our Capital Campaign.
